Halifax North and East covers the Wards of: Illingworth, Mixenden (I&M)  Ovenden, Warley

For the week 23 to 29  August

Burglary Residential – 0
Theft from motor vehicle / vehicle interference – 11
Theft of motor vehicle - 2

Theft from motor vehicle/Vehicle interference
3 x Vehicles, which has been left unlocked, were  entered and property taken  - I&M
Window smashed on vehicle and quantity of tools taken – I&M
4  x vehicles, which has been locked,  entered by unknowns. Searched but no property taken – I&M
Chain securing motorcycle is cut before suspects are disturbed by owner and make off – Ovenden
Suspects seen trying door handles of 2 vehicles, no entry gained. Suspects made off – I&M
*8 of the offences were committed in the Holmfield area, 2 in Illingworth and 1 in Ovenden

Theft of motor vehicle
Moped stolen but now covered – I&M
Motorcycle stolen but found burnt out – Ovenden

As they're growing up, young people go through lots of changes.  They will naturally become more independent as they develop their own identity and are more likely to be impulsive and take risks. This behaviour is perfectly normal, however organised crime groups can see the young person as someone who can be easily manipulated or intimidated into doing what they want, and this can lead to child criminal exploitation
