Theft of Motor Vehicle - Griffe Head Road

Between 9th and 10th July unknown suspect(s) approach a vehicle left locked and secure on Griffe Head Road, Wyke and manage to gain access by unknown means. Suspect(s) make off with the vehicle unseen in an unknown direction

Theft of vehicle

* Think about where you park your vehicle? Is it in a safe and well-lit place? If you have a garage at home use it to secure your vehicle in.
* Think about where you keep your car keys at home? Are they on show? Are they within reach of the letterbox? Please ensure your home is secure by locking your door and closing windows.
* If your car has a ‘keyless’ system, keep keys far away from the car to disrupt communication range. Keep the key in a shielded wallet or aluminium tin and use a steering wheel lock for extra protection.
* Is it wise to keep the vehicle running/keys in the ignition when leaving the car for a short period of time?
* Be proactive and keep an eye out for your neighbours.
