Alert message sent 22/06/2021 11:08:00

Information sent on behalf of West Yorkshire Police

DearCitizen

On 21st June an unknown suspect approaches an unlocked vehicle parked on Redcar Lane, BD20 and steals various items of property from within before making off in an unknown direction.

Theft from motor vehicle:

* Have you left your valuables on display?
* Check that your car windows are closed, even if you’re leaving the car for a few minutes.
* Have you heard the locking noise? Have the lights flashed? Don’t assume your vehicle has locked when using a key fob. Pull the door handle to make sure.
* Are your number plates fitted with security/tamper proof screws?
* Van owner - where possible consider removing tools and machinery from your van overnight. Note - As with any additional security for vehicles, try to purchase devices that are Thatcham quality assured (https://www.thatcham.org/) or Sold Secure tested (http://www.soldsecure.com/).
