Also check the below points:

* Have you left your valuables on display?
* Check that your car windows are closed, even if you’re leaving the car for a few minutes.
* Have you heard the locking noise? Have the lights flashed? Don’t assume your vehicle has locked when using a key fob. Pull the door handle to make sure.
* Are your number plates fitted with security/tamper proof screws?
* Van owner - where possible consider removing tools and machinery from your van overnight. Note - As with any additional security for vehicles, try to purchase devices that are Thatcham quality assured (https://www.thatcham.org/) or Sold Secure tested (http://www.soldsecure.com/).

As always, if you see anyone acting in a suspicious manner or witness a crime taking place, please contact West Yorkshire Police on 101 or 999 (in an emergency). Alternatively, crime can be reported via the West Yorkshire Police website.
