Burglary Near You - Downside Crescent, Thornton & Allerton Ward.

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Downside Crescent, Thornton & Allerton Ward, this occurred on Wednesday 14th October between 1900hrs and 1930hrs.

Between the times and dates above, a witness has heard banging and noises coming from a neighbouring property and went outside to investigate. Upon doing so, they noticed an unknown male standing by the victim's vehicle.

When challenged about his presence, the male shouted, "Lads, lads, we need to go!" At that point, two additional males were seen running from the upstairs area of the victim's address before all three suspects made off from the location.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish whether entry was gained and if any property was stolen.

As the darker evenings approach, residents are reminded to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. Ensure doors and windows are secure, consider using security lighting, CCTV, or doorbell cameras, and look out for your neighbours where possible.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between 1900hrs and 1930hrs to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

As a precaution, please check that your door locks are secure and correctly fitted. We recommend anti-snap locks with a 3 Star rating, certified to either TS007 or SS312 standards. These locks are available from many locksmiths and security providers.
