Appeal for information following incident on Rooks Nest Road

Dear Resident,

We are appealing for information after a girl was found with serious injuries in Wakefield.

At about 8.33pm yesterday (Tuesday), a report was received from the ambulance service who had attended Rooks Nest Road after the girl was found lying in the road close to a bus stop.

The 16-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment and remains there today (Wednesday). Her condition is described as critical.
Enquiries are ongoing today as to how she came to suffer these injuries, which include serious head and chest injuries.
Rooks Nest Road remains closed and motorists are advised to find alternative routes where possible.
