We are pleased to report that no shop thefts were recorded in Halifax Town Centre yesterday. This is encouraging news and reflects the positive impact that increased police patrols and engagement with businesses are having within the town centre.

Officers continue to carry out high-visibility patrols, targeting issues that matter most to our communities, including retail crime, anti-social behaviour, street drinking and drug-related activity. The recent reduction in reported shop thefts suggests that these proactive measures are helping to deter offending and provide reassurance to businesses, staff and visitors.

We will continue to deploy additional patrols in the town centre whenever staffing levels allow, focusing on preventing crime and tackling the issues that affect local businesses and residents.

A reminder to all businesses: to ensure crime trends are accurately recorded and resources are directed appropriately, please report ALL theft offences on the day they occur. Accurate and timely reporting helps us build a true picture of crime within the town centre and supports our ongoing efforts to target offenders and secure the resources needed to address these issues.
