Community Alert – Burglary of Building Under Renovation, Haworth At approximately 00:50hrs, two unknown suspects wearing dark-coloured clothing forced entry into a property undergoing renovation by kicking in the Yale lock on the main door. Once inside, the suspects stole a quantity of tools, cable and copper from within the premises. They then made off on foot carrying the stolen items in the direction of Heathcliffe, Haworth. Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area around this time, or who may have CCTV, doorbell footage, or dashcam recordings that could assist the investigation, is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police quoting the relevant incident or crime reference number. Please remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour immediately via 101 or 999 in an emergency.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
