Drugs arrest - Pinderfields Road - You Said, We Did! |

Dear Resident, On the evening of Tuesday 28th July, PC Pickering of Wakefield Central NPT East had cause to attend a flat on Pinderfields Road, Wakefield, where he saw a man he knew to be wanted for drugs trafficking offences and duly arrested him. A subsequent search of the property resulted in the discovery and seizure of around £10,000 worth of suspected Class A and Class B drugs, resulting in further arrests of both this man and the female resident of the property. The suspects were processed and the file presented to CPS who authorised charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act. Both suspects were remanded into custody pending their trials. Inspector Paul Fraser, Wakefield Central NPT said: “This arrest is down to the sharing of community intelligence, on this occasion facilitated by Councillor Ayub, as well as the dedication and excellent policing skills of PC Pickering. The arrested male was of particular interest to us having been linked to previous investigations into serious and organised crime around the Wakefield area. Also, the recovery of this amount of controlled drugs sends a clear message to anybody wishing to come into our neighbourhoods and deal drugs. Our residents and partners are united in protecting vulnerable people, tackling crime, and making our community safer. The NPT listens, learns and acts”.
