Please see the below for some quick hints and tips on how you can help to prevent metal theft and what to do if you notice anything suspicious. How You Can Protect Your Property✅ Secure gates, sheds and outbuildings with good-quality locks. ✅ Install motion-activated lighting and CCTV where possible. ✅ Mark valuable metal items with forensic property marking products or unique identifiers. ✅ Store metal, tools and machinery out of sight and within secure compounds. ✅ Remove redundant metal and scrap from premises promptly to avoid attracting thieves. ✅ Consider fencing, ground anchors or security cages for valuable items such as trailers, generators and metal stock. ✅ Keep a record of serial numbers, photographs and identifying marks.
