Warmer Weather Crime Prevention
With the warmer weather here, many of us are spending more time outdoors, in our gardens, or away enjoying days out. Unfortunately, opportunist burglars can take advantage of open windows, unlocked doors, and unattended properties.
Help protect your home by following these simple steps:
🔒 Always lock doors and windows, even when you're at home or in the garden.
🔑 Keep keys, purses, and valuables out of sight and away from doors and windows.
🌿 Trim hedges and bushes to remove hiding places around your property.
💡 Use timer switches on lights if you're away from home.
🚲 Secure bikes, tools, and garden equipment with suitable locks and store them safely when not in use.
📦 Ensure deliveries are not left on display if you're out.
Keep an eye out for your neighbours and report any suspicious activity.
Remember, it only takes a few seconds for an opportunist thief to enter an insecure property.
📞 If you see anything suspicious, report it to the police via 101 or online. In an emergency, always call 999.
