|
Dear Resident
You are receiving this message because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Hirst Wood Road, Shipley. This occurred sometime between 11pm on 13/06/2026 and 1pm on 14/06/2026. The unidentified suspect/s attempted to gain entry to the house by using a blow torch and then trying to snap cylinder lock. There was damage caused to the door but the lock remained intact and no entry was gained.
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between (times) to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
