Attempted Burglary Near You - Cheltenham Road , Shipley BD2

Dear Resident

You are receiving this message because you live in the vicinity of an attempted burglary that occurred on Cheltenham Road, Shipley. This occurred between 12.30am and 12.50am on 04/06/2026. The method of attack was by blow torch and then attempting to snap the cylinder lock. On this occasion the unidentified suspect/s failed to gain entry and fled empty handed. 

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between (times) to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
