Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Scholemoor Lane this occurred in the hours of the Monday 23rd March between 18:00hrs and 18:12hrs, the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock. 

4 SUSPECTS ARRIVE IN BLUE AUDI SQ5 ON FALSE PLATES. SUSPECTS MAKE THEIR WAY AROUND THE BACK OF THE PROPERTY WEARING ALL BLACK, BALACLAVA AND GLOVES. SNAP REAR LOCK OF SEMI DETACHED PROPERTY BEFORE BEING DISTURBED BY VICTIM AND MAKING OFF IN SAME VEHICLE.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it Monday 23rd March between 18:00hrs and 18:12hrs  to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
