THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE

Dear Resident

You are receiving this as you live in the vicinity of a theft of motorcycle that occurred on Winchester Gardens on Thursday 19th March between 15:45hrs and 16:15hrs

VICTIM AND SUSPECTS ARE STRANGERS.  THEY HAVE BEEN COMMUNICATING VIA FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE ABOUT THE SALE OF VICTIMS QUAD BIKE.  VICTIM AND 2 SUSPECTS ARE AT LOCUS WHEN SUSPECT 1 HAS ASKED TO HAVE A TRY OF THE QUAD BIKE BEFORE HE BUYS IT.  VICTIM WAS HESITANT BUT SUSPECT 1 GAVE VICTIM HIS MOBILE TO HOLD AND PUT HIS DETAILS IN THERE.  AS VICTIM IS PUTTING THE DETAILS INTO VICTIMS PHONE, THE PHONE GOES OFF SO HE SHOWS VICTIM 2 THE PHONE.  VICTIM 2 GRABS THE PHONE AND RUNS AWAY OVER A WALL WHILST VICTIM 1 DRIVES OFF ON THE QUAD BIKE.

If you have any information in relation to the above please contact the Police on 101 or speak to a local PCSO. Please also check your CCTV or Doorbell camera if you have one during the crime timings to see if there are any activations. 

This is also a good time to check your own security, many offences are preventable with small improvements to your vehicle security.
