Attempt Burglary Near You - Charteris Road

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of an attempt burglary that occurred on Charteris Road, this occurred on Thursday 5th February between 08:30hrs and 11:30hrs and the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock to try to gain entry. 

BETWEEN TIMED AND DATES STATED, VICTIM HAS LEFT THE PROPERTY SECURE AND HAS COMEBACK, PUT THE KEYS IN THE DOOR AND THE BARREL HAS COME OUT OF THE DOOR.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it to check Thursday 5th February between 08:30hrs and 11:30hrs k if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
