Traffic Operation Thursday 5th February - Crosland Moor & Netherton Ward

On Thursday 5th February, Huddersfield NPT officers undertook a proactive traffic operation around the Crosland Moor and Netherton ward.

Acting on concerns from residents, speed checks took place on Balmoral Avenue leading to Butternab Road. Overall compliance was good with only a handful of vehicles dealt with in relation to speed.

Proactive patrols found a male driving while disqualified, a vehicle seized for having no valid insurance, and a further one dealt with for having no MOT. Despite the foggy weather, several vehicles were given vehicle defect notices to repair defective lights which had placed other road users at risk, and a further person was stop searched after observations by officers.

Lots of engagement with residents took place, and further intelligence gained in relation to vehicles and individuals causing concern within the community. This will be followed up over the coming weeks.
