You are receiving this message because a number of burglaries have recently occurred in your area.

These incidents have specifically involved the theft of gold, including Asian gold jewellery.

If you have any information that may assist our enquiries, please contact the Police on 101, or speak with a local PCSO. If you have CCTV or a video doorbell, please review your footage for the relevant times to see if there is anything that may help our investigation.

This is also a good opportunity to review your home security. Many offences are preventable with small, effective improvements, and we encourage you to consider the following crime‑prevention tips:

Protect your jewellery

Keep high‑value jewellery, especially gold, in a high‑quality, insurance‑rated safe that is fixed to a solid wall or floor.

Avoid keeping large amounts of gold or cash in your home.

Store jewellery boxes out of sight; do not leave valuables in bedrooms or obvious places.

Consider using property‑marking or photographing your jewellery for records.

Secure your home

Ensure all doors and windows are locked, even when you are at home.

Use window and door alarms where possible.

Install anti‑snap locks, particularly on UPVC doors.

Make sure side gates, sheds, and garages are locked.

Keep keys out of reach of doors, windows, and letterboxes.

Improve visibility & monitoring

Make use of CCTV or video doorbells and ensure they are set to record.

Use timer switches or smart lighting to make your home look occupied.

Keep front and rear gardens well lit with motion‑activated lighting.

Community awareness

Report suspicious activity immediately.

Look out for neighbours, especially vulnerable residents.

Consider joining or forming a Neighbourhood Watch group.
