🚨 Theft of Motor Vehicles & Burglaries – A Reminder to Bike Owners 🚨 We’ve seen a recent increase in thefts of motor vehicles and shed/garage burglaries, particularly involving motorbikes. A common theme we’re encountering is the belief that bikes are safe because “people don’t know it’s there” — unfortunately, that simply isn’t the case. Offenders do know, and they actively look for easy opportunities. In most cases, bikes are being left with: ❌ No security at all, or ❌ Only a steering lock, which can be overcome in seconds Please remember: 🔒 A steering lock is not a security device 🔒 Hidden does not mean secure 🔒 Thieves are quick, organised, and opportunistic We strongly encourage bike owners to use multiple layers of security: ✔️ Ground anchors ✔️ Heavy-duty chains & padlocks ✔️ Alarmed disc locks ✔️ Secure sheds/garages ✔️ CCTV / lighting where possible Taking a few extra minutes to properly secure your bike can be the difference between still owning it tomorrow — or seeing it on our page after recovery. Stay alert, stay secure, and please continue to report anything suspicious. 👀🏍️ |
