Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Chellow Grange Road, this occurred between Tuesday13th January and Saturday 17th January time frame due to the occupants moving in and house being unoccupied. The method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry.
LOCUS IS A SEMI DETACHED 3 BEDROOM PROPERTY WITH ACCESS GAINED VIA FRONT OR SIDE DOORS. BETWEEN DATE AND TIMES STATED THE PROPERTY HAS BEEN UNOCCUPIED DUE TO THE VICTIM IN THE MIDDLE OF MOVING IN. UNKNOWN SUSPECTS HAVE GAINED ACCESS BY SNAPPING LOCK OF SIDE DOOR. ONCE INSIDE SUSPECTS HAVE TAKEN ITEMS FROM A WARDROBE IN AN UPSTAIRS BEDROOM BEFORE LEAVING PROPERTY.
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Tuesday13th January and Saturday 17th January to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
