Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Belmont Crescent on Wednesday 15th January 2026 between 0925hrs and 1745hrs the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry.
Suspects unknown attack rear door handle, bending handle frame to expose europrofile lock. Suspects then snap lock by unknown means and force door open, bending sash jammer out of the way. Suspects then enter address but take nothing. Suspects then leave via point of entry. Victim's daughter is home all day and has not seen or heard anything, it's unknown if suspects were disturbed by her which is why they left and nothing seems to have been taken.
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it Wednesday 15th January between 0900hrs - 1800hrs to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
