Attempt Burglary near you - Westminster Avenue

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Westminster Avenue, this occurred in the early hours of Tuesday 13th January 20226 between 0130hrs and 0830hrs, and the method of attack was by blow torch and then snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry. 

BETWEEN TIMES AND DATES STATED UNKNOWN SUSPECT(S) HAVE ATTEMPTPED TO GAIN ENTRY TO LOCUS WITH THE INTENTION OF BURGLING THE PREMISES. DAMAGE HAS BEEN CAUSED TO LOCK WITH A BLOW TORCH. 

NO ACCESS WAS GAINED THANKFULLY.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Tuesday 13th January 0100am- 0845am  to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
