Burglary Near You - Sycamore Avenue BD7

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Friday 9th January 2026, this occurred in the evening between 1800hrs and 1830hrs and the method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry. 

BETWEEN TIMES AND DATES STATED 3 UNKOWN SUSPECTS SNAP LOCK OFF UPVC DOOR AND MAKE AN UNTIDY SEARCH OF HOUSE TAKING TV AND SERVEAL PIECES OF JEWELLERY. 

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Friday 9th January 2026 1750hrs and 1840hrs to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
