Burglary Near You - Common Road BD12

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Friday 9th January 2026 2100hrs - Saturday 10th January 2026 0900hrs  this is believed to have occurred overnight in the mentioned time frame. The method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock using a drill allowing entry. 

BETWEEN TIMES AND DATES STATED, VICTIM HAS BEEN UPSTAIRS ASLEEP. UNKNOWN SUSPECTS HAVE APPROACHED FROM THE REAR OF THE PROPERTY. USING A SUSPECTED DRILL, THEY HAVE GAINED ENTRY THROUGH PATIO DOORS AND STOLEN CASH, A COAT, A COMPUTER AND TOOLS TOTALLING TO AROUND £6600.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Friday 9th January 2100pm - Saturday 10th January 0900am to check if you had any activations. 

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock. 

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police.
