Two Arrested Following Pursuit on Scott Hall Road

On Monday 5th January PC Fell and PC Seage from North East Leeds NPT were out on patrol when they noticed a grey Vauxhall Corsa seemingly increasing its speed upon sighting the police vehicle. Following this suspicious behaviour blue lights and sirens were activated and the vehicle refused to stop for officers. A pursuit took place and a short while later on Scott Hall Road the vehicle crashed into a traffic light. Upon searching the vehicle numerous wraps of brown powder were located on the front passenger.
 

As a result, the passenger was charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply heroin, and possession of cannabis. He has been remanded into custody awaiting the next hearing at the end of January.

The driver was also charged with dangerous driving, drive otherwise than in accordance with a licence, drive without insurance, and failing to stop. He also faces court in a couple of weeks.

North East Leeds NPT Temporary Inspector Adam Harper said:
“We are pleased to have intercepted another drug deal and ultimately eliminated a source of drug dealing from the city of Leeds. We have also removed a dangerous driver from the roads, preventing future accidents or injuries. At North East Leeds NPT our ultimate goal remains clear: reduce crime, protect the vulnerable and reassure the public. We now await the court hearings for both males, and we will provide an update once appropriate to do so”.
