Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of an attempt burglary that occurred on Lingwood Road, Bradford. This occurred in the evening of Monday 5th January between the hours of 2010hrs and 2216hrs. The method of attack was by snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry. However they were disturbed and didn't gain entry thankfully.
VICTIM LEFT BACK DOOR LOCKED AND SECURE. UNKNOWN SUSPECT/S HAVE SNAPPED THE LOCK OFF OF THE VICTIMS BACK DOOR WITH UNKNOWN TOOL AND GAINED ENTRY. SUSPECT/S HAVE BEEN DISTURBED BY VICTIM AND MADE OFF IN UNKNOWN DIRECTION BEFORE THE VICTIM GOT DOWNSTAIRS. NOTHING WAS STOLEN.
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between Monday 5th January 2026 2000hrs and 2230hrs to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. Thanks
