| I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Farming equipment thefts, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. There have been a number of recent thefts and attempt thefts from outbuildings such as barns/garages/sheds in the Todmorden, Hebden and Mytholmroyd areas. The thieves are targeting quad bikes and farming machinery/tools.  Rural crime has no set definition but can be very broadly classified as any crime and anti-social behaviour occurring in rural areas. It is often linked to Organised Crime Groups (OCGs) who target and exploit rural communities across a range of crime types, for example organised plant theft, livestock theft, burglaries targeting firearms, poaching and hare coursing. The NPCC (National Police Chiefs Council) has developed a Rural Affairs Strategy which sets out police priorities in this area:
