Castleford residents - Don’t leave valuables on show in your vehicle.

A number of vehicles have been targeted in the Castleford area over the last few days.

Valuables including a wallet, cash, sunglasses and banks cards have been stolen from vehicles on Windermere Road, Stansfield Drive, Churwell Close, Blenheim Way, Willow Mews, Lowe Lane and Barnes Road. 

Crimes occurred in the early hours on Saturday 13 September and Monday 15 September.

Please remember to remove all your valuables, however small, from view or place them in the boot when leaving your vehicles. Always double check that you have locked your vehicle by trying the door handle.

Vehicles with unfolded electric wing mirrors could indicate that it has been left unlocked. Car thieves are known to look out for vehicles with wing mirrors sticking out.

Offences can take place anywhere, in a car park, at the side of the road or on your driveway.
