Rise in theft from vehicles in Knottingley - Don’t leave valuables on show in your vehicle.

Tools, bank cards, cash and a purse are just some of the items that have been stolen from vehicles in Knottingley over the last 2 days. The majority of these crimes occurred in the early hours of the morning on Thursday 11 September. 

The thefts occurred on Cleveland Way, Cotterill Road, Arncliffe Drive, Grove Lane and Oak Tree Crescent.

Please remember to remove all your valuables, however small, from view or place them in the boot when leaving your vehicles. Always double check that you have locked your vehicle by trying the door handle.

Vehicles with unfolded electric wing mirrors could indicate that it has been left unlocked. Car thieves are known to look out for vehicles with wing mirrors sticking out.

Offences can take place anywhere, in a car park, at the side of the road or on your driveway.
