Attempted House Burglary & Theft From Car - Mayfield Avenue, Ilkley LS29

Dear Resident,

Sometime between 10.30pm and 11pm on 30/07/2025, the resident of a house on Mayfield Avenue, Ilkley heard a bang at the property but through nothing more of it. The following morning, visitors to the address, pointed out damage to the house door lock. The outer casing had been bent back and the lock barrel snapped. Fortunately, no entry was gained to the property. The victim also noticed that their car had been entered and items removed, including a purse, cash and cards. 

Please remember to remove all valuables from your vehicles overnight or when left unattended. The attached leaflet provides  information around anti snap locks, which appear to have prevented a burglary on this occasion.
