Earlier today, whilst on patrol in the Lupset area, PCs Darnley & Roberts from Wakefield Central NPT West had reason to stop a vehicle which was believed to be involved in the supply of drugs in the Peacock, Darnley & Lupset areas. 

Officers were suspicious because of the behaviour of the driver, and he was arrested on suspicion of drugs related offences. Whilst in custody at Havertop Lane Police Station, he was searched, and a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs were found hidden in a packet of mints. He was also in possession of a large amount of cash.

He remains in custody whilst enquiries are ongoing.
