Stolen vehicle located in Castleford & three arrested

Over the weekend of 5th & 6th July, PC Doherty, from the neighbourhood policing team identified a vehicle, in Castleford, suspected to have been involved in criminality and on false registration plates.

The vehicle in question had made good its escape on two separate occasions. This information was shared with our Roads Policing colleagues, and on the afternoon of Tuesday 8th July 2025 officers from our Roads Policing unit engaged in a pursuit with the vehicle, which resulted in it being abandoned in a field.

PC Shaw and PC Skidmore from the neighbourhood policing team attended the area and PC Shaw arrested three males nearby who matched descriptions provided by a witness.

Checks on the abandoned vehicle revealed it to be on false plates and was stolen in the Wakefield area. The three males were subsequently arrested for burglary, failing to stop and dangerous driving.

The investigation continues whilst forensic enquiries are carried out.
