This morning whilst conducting high visibility foot patrols in Castleford Town Centre, PC Atkinson and PC Banaras spotted a male who was wanted for recall to prison.

Upon sighting officers, the suspect attempted to make off, but our officers quickly managed to stop and arrest him. Following a search he was found to be in possession of Class B Drugs (cannabis) which he was further arrested for. The male is now in custody awaiting transport back to prison.

Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams have been working hard to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime as part of the national Safer Streets campaign to make town centres safer.
