Following an increase in reports regarding a persistent beggar near the traffic lights on Otley Road, Shipley, and around McDonald's in Shipley, our Shipley Neighbourhood Policing Team has been carrying out proactive patrols to address the situation.

As a result, we have completed a summons file for the individual concerned, which includes six offences. These offences relate to persistent begging and breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) that specifically prohibits them from begging.

We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to report incidents of begging in the Shipley area. Your continued support is vital in helping us take appropriate action to keep our community safe and welcoming for all.
