Dear Resident
You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a couple of burglaries that occurred in the estate just off New Road Side, they occurred in the early hours of the 5th February and the method of attack on one of them was by blow torch and then snapping the cylinder lock, it is not believed the offenders got in.
The Police believe the offences occurred between 0030 and 0230 in the early hours. An alarm has disturbed the offender on one occasion and the standard of lock prevented entry on another. We would like to to look at the following;
Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between 0030 and 0230am to check if you had any activations.
Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.
Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101. If you are unsure of what kind of lock you have speak to a specialist. Please share with your neighbours.
Thanks
